As the owner of Ranno Investigative Services, (@CTPrivateDetective) on TikTok, I have worked with the general public, attorneys, insurance companies, police departments and self insured corporations. I have held my Private Detective license (A-2089) in the State of Connecticut since 2001.
My investigative experience is in a wide range of investigative services. With my long standing reputation, it makes my agency one of the most established and reputable Investigative Agencies in the State of Connecticut.
As the owner and primary Investigator, I feel it necessary to provided my clients with my Investigative history.
I began my investigative career as an apprenticing investigator, working with a small agency in the South End of Hartford, CT. (Hartford Security Investigators) That agency specialized in infidelity investigations as well as locating missing persons. While employed there, I worked a wide array of investigative cases.
I then transferred to another, larger, investigation company located in Southington, CT. (Countermeasures Surveillance & Investigations). While apprenticing at that agency, I specialized in mobile surveillance of Workers Compensation and Liability Insurance Fraud cases. I perfected the art of overt surveillance, covert surveillance, undercover operations, hiding in plain sight and installing and detecting hidden cameras.
After completing my 5 year apprenticeship, which is required in the State of Connecticut, I then obtained my Connecticut license as a Private Detective. (A-2089).
It was then that one of the other Investigators from that agency and I opened our own agency. (ESI Investigations). Our agency was based out of East Hartford, CT. ESI Investigations quickly became one of the largest insurance fraud Detective Agencies in Connecticut. Our client base was almost every insurance company that was licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut. During the time our agency was open, our investigative team caught hundreds, if not thousands, of fraudulent claimants committing insurance fraud. We then opened a new division of ESI Investigations, our Investigative Bureau and brought in, Ken Tramadeo, a retired Newington Police Officer, who I worked closely with on our Criminal Defense and Personal Injury Investigations. Detective Tramadeo worked for many years perfecting his investigative skills in locating missing persons, witness interviews, personal injury claims, criminal defense investigations, techniques for testifying, asset searches, bug sweeping, GPS Tracking and more. Detective Tramadeo, unfortunately, has since passed and is sorely missed.
In 2001, as ESI Investigations was becoming quite large, I felt the agency was no longer for me. I separated from ESI Investigations and opened (Ranno Investigative Services) based in Middletown, CT. (50 Highland Avenue, Suite 2). I have since been working as the sole detective in a single-person investigation agency. I found it to be more effective and efficient in obtaining results for my clients. Working alone in my agency, Ranno Investigative Services, I am able to work hands on with every investigation and write every investigation report. I conduct every surveillance, obtain and duplicate all video evidence, I conduct every witness statement and testimony on any cases conducted.
Currently, I continue working as a single-person detective agency across the entire State of Connecticut. After 33 years in the business, my agency has become a trusted source by attorneys, my clients as well as local and state police departments. I am present on all social media, including Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook, X, Youtube, and others. I do an investigative podcast and have been interviewed on several podcasts, television stations and had posts shared across the world.

A co-worker and I then opened our own agency, ESI Investigations, which was based out of East Hartford, CT. We quickly became one of the largest insurance fraud detective agencies in Connecticut. We worked for every insurance company that was licensed in the State of Connecticut and caught hundreds, if not thousands of fraudulent claimants. We also brought in, Ken Tramadeo, a retired Newington Police Officer who handled our Criminal Defense and Personal Injury Investigations. I worked closely with Ken for many years and perfected additional skills in personal injury, criminal defense, techniques for testifying and much more. Ken has passed since and is sorely missed.
